New Class Starts March 27th - June 12th

The Citizen’s Police Academy is a 12-week program designed to give citizens a working knowledge of law enforcement. The program is offered free of charge and is limited to 25 students per session. One block of instruction is offered each week from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm and provides an in-depth view of how a particular division of the department functions. The program is both informative and fun, allowing students an actual hands-on experience in some classes.

The Citizen’s Police Academy provides an excellent opportunity for citizens who live or work in the City of Elmhurst to become acquainted with how the police department operates on a day-to-day basis. At the end of the program, participants will have a better understanding of police procedures, equipment, responsibilities, demands, and the laws governing the actions of police officers.
